"I...believe that every Georgian has the right to affordable health care. I believe that the thousands of Georgians who can't take their children to a doctor when they get sick have that right...We now face an opportunity - and an obligation - to turn the page on the failed politics of yesterday's health care debates. It's time to bring together businesses, the medical community, and members of both parties around a comprehensive solution to this crisis, and it's time to let the insurance industry know that while they get a seat at the table, they don't get to buy every chair
Throughout America's history, education has been the vehicle for social and economic mobility, giving hope and opportunity to millions of young people. Georgia schools must prepare students not only to meet the demands of the global economy, but also help students take their place as committed and engaged citizens. It must ensure that all students have a quality education regardless of race, class, or background. Earl Giddins is committed to strengthening Georgia public schools to maximize our states greatest natural resource - Our Children. I believe that we must equip poor and struggling districts, both rural and urban, with the support and resources they need to provide disadvantaged students with an opportunity to reach their full potential with programs like the Hope Scholarship; Too often, our leaders present this issue as an either - or debate, divided between giving our schools more funding, or demanding more accountability. I believe that we have to do both.

I believe that we have a responsibility to our children to leave the Earth better than we found it. I want to help make a better quailty of life in the metro area with a real look at our traffic problem and help keep a clean and beautiful environment by cleaning up our air and water, building healthier communities with fewer toxins, and preserving our forests and other state treasures. In doing so, making sure that our environmental laws and policies balance our need for a healthy, sustainable environment with economic growth.

As a small business owner I believe that economic growth expands opportunity for everyone. business, government, and employees, working together as partners, can strike a healthy balance in which the whole state can prosper. Georgia must continue enhancing our image as one of the most desirable locations to do business. With continued efforts to provide a skilled and educated work force, solid transportation and communication infrastructures, and a quality of life that attracts and creates good new jobs to provide a higher standard of living for all Georgians. I also recognize that the majority of jobs and economic opportunities are provided by small businesses. Every effort must be made to ensure that governmental structures enhance their efforts to develop, grow and prosper.
